Human Resources Assistant

Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group has partnered with a senior living community and together we are seeking a Temporary HR Administrative Assistant to support our Human Resources team during a busy hiring season. This role will help alleviate administrative backlogs related to recruitment events, applicant processing, and employee records. The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to HR environments, understand confidentiality requirements, and be comfortable working across multiple systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide general customer service support by responding to basic employee questions and inquiries
  • Serve as a first point of contact, escalating sensitive or complex employee matters appropriately
  • Support recruitment activities by coordinating applicant touchpoints after offer extension
  • Track and follow up on pre-employment screening requirements and hiring deadlines
  • Assist with HRIS-related tasks, including navigating employee records (training provided as needed)
  • Perform data entry, reporting, and basic analysis using Excel (filtering, sorting, and organizing data)
  • Digitize employee files through scanning, uploading, and saving documents into electronic records
  • Manage calendars, emails, and internal communication using Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and other Microsoft Office tools

Qualifications/Background Profile:

  • Previous administrative experience in a Human Resources or HR-adjacent role
  • Familiarity with HR confidentiality, privacy practices, and employee sensitivity
  • Experience working in an HRIS environment (prior exposure required; specific system training provided)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience supporting hiring or onboarding processes
  • Comfort handling initial intake of employee concerns and escalating when appropriate

The selected candidates must successfully complete:

  • Drug screening
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test
  • Criminal background check
  • Three professional reference checks

Pay Range: Hourly $21.00 to $23.00
