Pilot Line Lead Technician

Job Summary/Company: Our client is seeking a versatile lead technician responsible for the operational readiness and daily output of the pilot production line. This individual manages the facility, equipment, and workflow for high-complexity electronics assembly and test. They must be capable of transitioning new products from engineering prototypes to repeatable production runs with minimal oversight. This position is onsite full time, and due to federal contract requirements, only US Citizens can be considered for this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Operational Management: Directs the end-to-end build process, including material kitting, mechanical assembly, and functional testing.
  • Production Setup: Supports the industrialization phase for new products, including tool validation, providing feedback on work instructions, and training team members.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Acts as the primary escalation point for assembly and hardware integration issues, utilizing diagnostic tools to identify root causes of failure.
  • Material Management: Manages the stock of materials and supplies to maintain inventory levels and ensure supply chain continuity.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensures strict adherence to ESD protocols, safety standards, and serialized data tracking for every unit produced.

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • 7+ Years in high-mix, low-volume electronics manufacturing or aerospace/defense integration.
  • Proven Experience managing a technical team or acting as a lead technician in a regulated environment (ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar).
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled with standard computer software, including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Systems Proficiency: High proficiency in manufacturing software (ERP/MES/IMS) and formal document control.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Precision Assembly: Expert in level-3 integration, including calibrated torque applications and the handling of sensitive high-density electronics.
  • System Test Support: Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters) to verify hardware integrity before full-system testing.
  • Firmware and Provisioning: Competent in using command-line interface (CLI) tools and hardware debuggers to flash firmware and execute secure provisioning protocols.
  • Process Improvement: Ability to provide actionable feedback to engineering teams to improve manufacturability, reliability, and yield.
