Grants & Subaward Specialist

Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group, partnered with a reputable research organization, is seeking an organized Grants & Subaward Specialist to facilitate the lifecycle of sub-grants and documentation within their grants administration office. This is a 6-month engagement with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on organizational needs and performance. Responsibilities:

• Manage the assembly, verification, and tracking of sub-agreement documentation to ensure project files remain organized and audit-ready.
• Oversee the lifecycle of grant submissions and resolve routine processing hurdles through consistent communication with stakeholders.
• Direct project setup and maintain internal databases to track project milestones, awards, and compliance data.
• Provide operational support including team meeting coordination, report preparation, and assistance with departmental process improvements.

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• 3–5+ years of experience supporting grants, non-profit fiscal operations, or research environments.
• Proficiency in modern productivity tools, particularly Excel for tracking data and Outlook for professional correspondence.
• Foundational understanding of financial documentation and the ability to manage complex deadlines in a high-volume setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven capacity for independent work and professional discretion.
• Experience with Acumatica and Smartsheet considered a plus. 

This position is open to candidates working remotely out of the following states: Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia (DC), North Carolina, Massachusetts, Florida, Texas, Ohio, Missouri, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Mississippi, Arizona, Indiana, and Idaho.

This job is Fully Remote.

Pay Range: Hourly $32.00 to $34.00
