Human Resource Generalist

Job Description: Sparks Group has partnered up with a well-known industrial equipment supplier on a Human Resource Generalist role, to assist the HR team. This short-term, in-office contract is ideal for an experienced HR or recruiting professional who knows how to attract talent, build candidate pipelines, and keep hiring moving! The position offers flexibility in compensation based on experience, with higher pay for someone who can lead recruiting efforts and drive meaningful process improvements. 

Main Responsibilities: 


  • Provide administrative support to the Manager of Human Resources
  • Perform virtual and in-person interviews
  • Maintain the hiring process and provide status updates on roles actively being hired for
  • Collaborate with various disciplines to create job postings
  • Post roles on multiple sites and use resume databases to source candidates
  • Prescreen candidates to determine applicant qualifications
  • Facilitate background checks and the I-9 process for new hires
  • Support recruiting by preparing offer letters
  • Maintain hard-copy and digital employee records
  • Conduct employee onboarding and offboarding
  • Respond to employee and management questions related to HR topics
  • Provide employees with basic information on HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state labor regulations
  • Perform other duties consistent with the scope and nature of the position, as assigned by the Manager of Human Resources

Must Haves:

  • BA In Human Resources - preferred 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written forms; strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to make decisions independently based on experience, judgment, and established policies; a self-starter who is also comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and follow through on assignments under time constraints.
  • Flexible in an environment of multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain relationships; ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong commitment to excellent stakeholder service and knowledge of culturally responsive practices.
  • Prior Human Resources administration experience (preferred); working knowledge of personnel policies, rules, and regulations; strong attention to detail and experience handling confidential information.
  • Ability to follow processes and maintain organized status of the steps within those processes.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance; available by phone and email as needed

Software: 

 

  • Experience using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to manipulate data and develop charts/reports. Skill in using word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications

Pay Range: Hourly $25.00 to $34.00
