Sr. Accountant (Accounts Payable)

Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has teamed with a renowned government transportation contractor and is searching for a qualified, committed and motivated Sr. AP Accountant. The Sr. AP Accountant will have strong Vendor Master, Vendor Setup, 1042/1099/W9 experience and help implement highly-visible process improvements within the Accounts Payables team, with meticulous AP Vendor Database processing using ERP’s like Concur, Oracle and/or Fusion. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze Accounts Payables, journal entries, income statement, balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other financial reports for the AP team on a regular basis.
• Most notably, the ideal candidate must have strong Vendor Master, Vendor Setup, 1042/1099/W9 experience.
• Analyze statements and review/approve any proposed adjustments, prepare audit schedules and communicate with auditors
• Assist with implementing highly-visible process improvements within the Accounts Payables team procedures to increase efficiency.
• Apply knowledge of laws and regulations and ensure compliance to regulations, policies and procedures
• Provide input and support the development of verbal, analytical, and visual presentation materials for Executive Management
• Support multiple projects, identify opportunities, and carry out ad hoc tasks

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payables specifically with Vendor Master Data, Vendor Setup, 1042/1099/W9 experience.
• Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Oracle Fusion software experience is a plus
