Plan Administrator

Job Summary/Company:  Sparks Group has partnered with a leading Government Contractor seeking a 401K Plan Administrator for a 20-30 hour per week  indefinite contract.  IF you have 4+ years of 401K or retirement plan administration for companies with over 2000 plan participants this is the ideal role for you.  Apply now and call 703-620-6444


Responsibilities:
    • Administer all aspects of the company’s 401(k) plan, including enrollments, contributions, distributions, loans, and terminations.
    • Ensure compliance with IRS, ERISA, and DOL regulations.
    • Coordinate and execute annual nondiscrimination testing, plan audit and Dept. of Labor Form 5500 filing timely and in accordance with specified due dates. Prepare annual external audit materials and facilitate all audit requests to closure.
    • Serve as the primary contact for employees with questions about the 401(k) plan.
    • Liaise with investment advisors, and recordkeepers.
    • Maintain plan documents and records in a compliant and organized manner.
    • Monitor plan participation and recommend initiatives to increase engagement.
    • Coordinate with plan provided on all plan communications for participants, participant education opportunities, and maintain company internal intranet communications to promote employee engagement.
    • Review and reconcile plan reports and contributions with payroll and Finance.
    • Assist in recurring internal audits of plan identifying any issues and the proposed solution for approval by Chief People Office. Prepare annual external audit materials and facilitate all audit requests to closure.
    • Track and report key metrics, including participation rates and contribution levels.
    • Stay informed of regulatory changes and assess the impact on plan design and compliance.

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Directly related and relevant experience administering 401(k) retirement plans may be substituted for education requirements.
    • 4+ years of experience in 401(k) or retirement plan administration for companies with 2,000+ plan participants.
    • Experience with payroll systems and retirement plan recordkeeping platforms, Deltek/Costpoint and Fidelity experience is preferred.

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Strong understanding of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications including Word and Power Point.
    • Experience Costpoint and Workday is preferred.

    Preferred Certifications:

    • Certified Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS)
    • Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA)
    • CEBS or similar designation
