Staff Accountant

Sparks Group, in partnership with a well-known non-profit organization, is seeking a driven Staff Accountant. The Accountant will be responsible for accounts receivable and payable, expense management, processing journal and ledger entries, reconciliations, payroll, and assisting with annual audits. The ideal candidate will be mission-oriented, works well in rapidly changing environments, and has a minimum of 5 years' relative experience to include a strong working knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting. • Manage full-cycle accounting, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, expense management, and staff reimbursements.
• Process journal and ledger entries in QuickBooks Online and Excel, covering daily/weekly bank deposits, prepaids, and accruals.
• Administer bi-weekly payroll and retirement contributions.
• Assist with annual audits, including worker's compensation and financial statement preparation.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monthly close procedures.
• Ensure GAAP compliance across all financial operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is strongly preferred. Additional relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting (to include AP, AR, annual audit preparation, monthly reporting, and bookkeeping).
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office and Excel.

Pay Range: Hourly $28.00 to $36.00
