Staff Accountant

Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group, partnered with a leading healthcare research organization, is searching for a diligent Accountant to play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. As Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for managing specific financial activities, contributing to the monthly closing process, and providing valuable analytical support. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller, utilizing your expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to maintain the general ledger and improve financial reporting systems. Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and post journal entries to accurately record financial transactions.
• Assist in the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and analyses to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
• Conduct research and provide data for monthly performance reports and special projects.
• Analyze system interfaces and recommend process improvements.

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (Required).
• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience using a large ledger system (Required).
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting.
• Proficiency in computerized accounting systems and spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

This job is Hybrid Remote.

Pay Range: Salary $68,000.00 to $78,000.00
