FP&A Manager

Sparks Group and its client, a leading research organization, are searching for a dynamic FP&A Manger out of Washington, DC. In this role, you will manage the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the shared services division. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the success of the organization by providing critical financial insights, tracking performance, and allocating resources effectively. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this Manager will work closely and collaboratively with divisions across the organization.

As the Manager, FP&A, Responsibilities Include:

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify key financial drivers and deviations from budget. Provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Update and adjust budgets and forecasts in response to changes in funding, operations, or market conditions.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to leadership on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Dashboard & KPI Development: Design and maintain financial dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial performance and progress.
  • Cash Flow Management: Develop and monitor cash flow projections to ensure alignment with the organization’s financial objectives.
  • Training & Guidance: Develop training materials and coach teams on budgeting, reporting, and financial systems to ensure best practices across the organization.
  • Process Improvement: Streamline financial processes, improve forecasting accuracy, and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
  • Proposal Support: Assist with pricing proposals, evaluate the financial impact of decisions, and support grant and contract budget creation.
  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Oversee the completion of timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • System Support: Provide guidance on contract setups and troubleshoot issues in Deltek Costpoint and other financial systems.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years in financial management, particularly in government contracts and large federal awards.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with financial systems such as Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, and advanced Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Contract & Revenue Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal contracts, indirect rates, and revenue recognition processes.
  • Strong Communication: Ability to present complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

This job is Hybrid Remote.

Pay Range: Salary $130,000.00 to $160,000.00
